Exam Technology Requirements
Please read carefully: requirements differ for remote proctored exams and testing center exams.For Remote Proctored Exams:Before logging in, ensure you meet the following requirements to avoid retaking the exam and associated fees:
- Device: Traditional desktop or laptop only (no mobile devices).
- Software: Virtual Machines and Remote Desktops are not allowed.
- Operating System: Updated Windows 10+ or MacOS 11+.
- Internet: Upload speed of 1 Mbps, download speed of 2 Mbps (avoid tethering and hotspots).
- Hardware: Working webcam and microphone.
- Browser: Updated Google Chrome or Edge.
- Lockdown Browser: You must have the latest version of Respondus LockDown Browser installed. Download the latest version here.
- ID: Have a photo ID available.
- Restart Computer: We highly suggest restarting your computer before taking your exam. We also encourage you not to open any other applications other than the intended browser to take your exam.
- Device: Provided by the testing center, or use a compliant device if permitted.
- Webcam/Microphone: Not required.
- ID: Bring a photo ID for in-person check-in.
- Internet, OS, Browser: Testing center meets these requirements.
Important:- If you are registered for a remote proctored exam, you must meet all technology and environment requirements above.
- If you are testing at a physical center, only official ID and adherence to posted exam rules are required.
